Justice Department and Live Nation reach settlement over illegal monopoly case, AP source says
The Justice Department has reached a settlement in its antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment and its subsidiary, Ticketmaster, following allegations of an illegal monopoly over live events in America. The terms of the deal were not immediately clear, but the case accused Live Nation of using various tactics to stifle competition and drive up ticket prices by controlling aspects from concert promotion to ticketing. Live Nation has previously argued that artists and teams are responsible for setting prices and ticket selling methods.
