Williams Companies (WMB) will buy Momentum Midstream for $5.5B and invest $1.5B in its Delta Access Expansion, adding 4.05 Bcf/d capacity and 2.25 Bcf/d starting early 2029. Enbridge (ENB) and MPLX (MPLX) sanctioned the 2.6 Bcf/d Bay Runner Twin Pipeline for NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG, entering service by 2030. TC Energy (TRP) and DT Midstream (DTM) approved gas pipeline expansions tied to 20-year take-or-pay contracts for power and AI data centers.

Enbridge signed an exclusive option to acquire the TTC Connector on the US Gulf Coast LNG supply chain. The 25-mile, 300 million ft3/d pipeline is under construction and is expected to enter service by end-2026. Enbridge says it would expand its Gulf Coast natural gas footprint by linking its Tres Palacios storage to the Coastal Bend Header for Freeport LNG deliveries.

Michigan Supreme Court cancelled a regulator’s 2023 approval for Enbridge’s Line 5 tunnel under the Straits of Mackinac, ordering a reassessment of environmental harm to the Great Lakes. Ontario Premier Doug Ford said the ruling supports his proposed Northern Shield all-Canadian pipeline from Alberta to Sarnia. Enbridge said it will review legal options.

Enbridge Inc. said demand for North American natural gas transmission is rising, citing customer interest in projects including Project Beacon (Algonquin Gas Transmission) and an exclusive option for the TTC Connector Pipeline to serve Freeport LNG. Enbridge reported Q2 profit attributable to common shareholders of $1.4B, or 64 cents/share, down from $2.18B a year earlier. Secured capital backlog was $41B.

A 7th Circuit appeals panel upheld a ruling that Enbridge was trespassing on the Bad River tribe’s reservation and must remove or reroute Line 5. The court ordered a new review of damages after finding the prior award likely double-counted profits. A $1 billion 41-mile reroute is underway, and Enbridge said it is reviewing next steps.

Enbridge Gas Ohio asked Ohio’s Public Utilities Commission for approval to raise customer rates by about $7.60 per month, or roughly $91 per year, citing higher operating and maintenance, construction, tax, and recovery costs. PUCO held a public meeting in Akron as customers criticized the increase and referenced Enbridge’s reported $1.4 billion profit last quarter. PUCO’s decision is expected by year-end.

Ohio regulators held the first of three PUCO hearings on Enbridge Gas Ohio’s Dec. 31, 2025 request to raise natural gas distribution rates, which are fixed delivery charges. Enbridge sought about $163 million (17.28%), or about $9.49 per month. PUCO staff recommended $112.6 million to $129.4 million, about $5.90 per month. PUCO will decide later this year; if approved, rates likely start in 2027.

Enbridge says the tunnel would improve protection and is reviewing its legal options; opponents say a spill risk remains.

Enbridge said its Whistler joint venture sanctioned the Bay Runner Twin pipeline to deliver up to 2.6 Bcf/d of Permian gas to NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG facility at Port of Brownsville. Enbridge also said the Blackcomb Pipeline (up to 2.5 Bcf/d) began commissioning and will ramp in 2H 2026. Rio Grande LNG targets first shipment in 2027.
