A report by the Alliance for Affordable Energy and Sierra Club Delta warns Louisiana households and businesses could face billions in electricity infrastructure costs from five major data-centre projects tied to Meta, Amazon and Hut 8. It cites Meta’s Hyperion and Hut 8 plans needing up to 7.2GW. The groups say a Dec 2025 PSC rule lets developers pay half of new power costs, with the rest billed to others, and question Meta’s financing and oversight.
