Lineage Cell Therapeutics announced 3-year results from a Phase 1/2a study of OpRegen, an allogeneic cell therapy for geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration. The data, presented at the Foundation Fighting Blindness Retinal Innovation Summit 2026, showed sustained gains in best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and partial restoration of outer retinal structure, with benefits lasting at least three years after a single administration. These findings suggest OpRegen could stabilize and even improve GA, a condition previously considered irreversible, especially in patients with extensive treatment coverage.
