MidCap Financial Investment Corporation is a closed-end investment company that provides financing to privately held U.S. middle-market companies, generally defined as companies with less than $75 million in EBITDA. It invests primarily in directly originated, privately negotiated first-lien senior secured loans, and may also invest in other debt, including unitranche, second-lien, unsecured and mezzanine loans, as well as equity interests. Its portfolio focuses mainly on debt investments, which are generally not broadly syndicated. MidCap seeks to generate income from interest and fees, with potential additional returns from equity co-investments or warrants. Apollo Investment Management, L.P. manages MidCap’s investment operations, while an affiliate provides administrative services. MidCap pays its adviser base management and incentive fees. It has no employees. MidCap is headquartered in New York, NY.
