MGM, Springfield mayor in fight over sale of casino
MGM Resorts is suing the city of Springfield, Massachusetts, over a dispute regarding the sale of its casino. The city alleges MGM has not met terms of their host community agreement, including employee numbers and gaming offerings. MGM claims the city is delaying the sale of its interest in MGM Springfield to an undisclosed buyer. The casino operator has already sold the underlying real estate. The city and company had previously attempted arbitration to resolve their issues.
