In Japan, massages now come with a ‘proof you’re human’ ID scan
MEDIROM (NASDAQ:MRM) has announced that its World ID "Orb" authentication devices, used in Re.Ra.Ku wellness salons in Japan, have surpassed 20,000 "Proof of Human" verifications as of December 28, 2025. This milestone represents a doubling of verifications in approximately two months, largely attributed to a 25th-anniversary campaign offering free shoulder massages. The company plans to expand Orb installations to 200 salons nationwide to further integrate this "Proof of Human" technology into everyday life.
