Title insurers report improved profits, volume in 2Q
All five publicly traded title insurers reported higher year-over-year net income in 2Q, with Old Republic citing higher pretax operating income. KBW’s reactions were mixed: it cut earnings estimates and ratings for Stewart Information Services and cut estimates and price target for Fidelity National Financial, while raising estimates and price target for First American Financial. Radian Group later announced a deal to sell its title business to PLACE.
