Trump order tightens defense mineral sourcing rules to favor domestic supply
President Trump signed an executive order (July 20) tightening Defense Department waivers for critical materials sourced from covered adversarial nations and requiring more supply-chain mapping and, in some cases, mitigation plans to onshore supply chains. The White House said it supports defense supply resilience. Companies cited include MP Materials and copper and antimony producers such as Nova Minerals and Gunnison Copper.
