Day 632: Seneca Resources Installs Trench, Concrete Catch Basin To Collect Continuing Releases Of Contaminated Water From The Taft Shale Gas Well Pad In Middlebury Twp., Tioga County
Pennsylvania DEP reported that at Seneca Resources’ Taft shale gas well pad in Middlebury Township, a trench and new cement catch basin were installed to collect contaminated water. DEP measured elevated conductivity, staged a vac truck to remove liquids, and sampled overflow. The wastewater violations have been continued for 632 days, and Seneca faces criminal charges for alleged environmental law violations.
