Notes from Central Taiwan: Taiwan’s food scandals are a feature, not a bug
Taiwan’s Premier Cho Jung-tai said the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration and Taichung ordered Central Union Oil Corp (CUOC) to stop manufacturing after CUOC reported cooking oil with benzopyrene above legal limits. Authorities also pulled products from Taisun Enterprise, Fwusow Industry and Formosa Oilseed Processing. The DPP announced tighter testing, while KMT and TPP criticized the DPP and proposed FDA budget cuts.
