Ur-Energy restarts decades-old Wyoming uranium mine
Ur-Energy has restarted uranium mining operations at its Shirley Basin project in central Wyoming, marking the first activity there since 1992. The company, which acquired Pathfinder in 2013, has successfully transitioned the site into an in-situ recovery (ISR) mine, capable of annual production up to 2 million lb of uranium oxide. This move expands Ur-Energy's U.S. uranium production capacity amidst a global resurgence in interest for nuclear energy.
