Vodafone Idea shares rose 4% to about ₹14.14 on heavy volume on Aug 14, extending a six-day rally after Q1FY27 results. According to the company, losses narrowed to ₹3,754 crore from ₹6,608 crore, revenue rose ~6% YoY to ₹11,689 crore, and EBITDA was ₹5,034 crore. Analysts cited ARPU growth and expectations for further ARPU expansion.

Reform UK home affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf wrote to Vodafone’s board seeking details on Vodafone’s alleged supply of 2,221 SIM cards to the refugee charity Care4Calais. He asks who funded the SIMs, what services they provided, whether Vodafone knew recipients’ immigration status, whether any SIMs remain active, and whether Vodafone would share data with authorities.

Singtel reported fiscal Q1 revenues of S$3.56bn and EBIT up 7.9% to S$462m, citing momentum in NCS, Optus and Digital InfraCo and growth in Nxera datacentres and RE:AI. Vodafone rejected Reform UK home affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf’s demand to stop donating SIM cards to Care4Calais, a charity that distributes them to asylum seekers. Yusuf said Vodafone provided over 2,000 SIM cards and warned of jail and contract/regulatory consequences if Reform UK wins. Vodafone said its VodafoneThree program supplies SIMs to registered charities under strict criteria for UK use only.

Security firms CloudSEK and Hudson Rock reported that a supply-chain attack involving LiteLLM exposed credentials for about 434,000 CI/CD pipelines. They said compromised LiteLLM versions were downloaded from PyPI during a 40-minute March window, extracting keys and secrets from a 195TB dataset. Firms urged affected users to rotate and revoke credentials, citing related infections from Trivy.

Vodafone said it is using its £11bn UK network expansion to improve digital inclusion, citing research that 55% of Britons link digital tools to career and personal opportunities and 42% credit better mobile connectivity. Vodafone opened an “Opportunity Hub” on 6 August and plans to remove 16,500 sq km of mobile not-spots, according to the company.

CloudSEK said it identified over 2,500 organisations potentially exposed to an AI software supply-chain incident tied to LiteLLM after Team PCP compromised the project in March 2026. CloudSEK estimates about 434,000 CI/CD pipelines were linked. It listed possible exposure to cloud credentials, source-code access, and AI API keys, and said inclusion does not confirm a breach.

Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) says it expects to close bank-led debt funding soon with an SBI-led banks consortium. Vi plans to use the proceeds for capex of Rs 45,000 crore over three years. It has already raised Rs 6,400 crore, including Rs 1,183 crore from warrants and debt via ECB and private banks. Vi also ordered network equipment worth about Rs 9,100 crore.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) said it expects to finalize a fundraising deal with an SBI-led consortium to back its Rs 450 billion capex plan. The company reported raising Rs 64 billion in the first tranche, including Rs 11.83 billion via warrants and debt from ECBs and Indian private banks. Vi also cited Rs 90 billion in network orders, with Rs 19.3 billion deployed in the June 2026 quarter.

Global stocks were mixed as investors weighed prospects for a US-Iran peace deal that could reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
