Chipmakers may invest up to $5 billion in Meta’s AI fundraising

Meta announced a $95 billion capital raise, including a $35 billion stock offering, and said Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom could each contribute to a joint investment of up to $5 billion in the company. The chipmakers’ interest is non‑binding and would represent roughly 22% of Meta’s $22.5 billion common‑stock tranche. Meta’s cash flow has fallen sharply as AI‑related capital spending surged, with free cash flow turning negative in Q3.

If the chipmakers follow through, Meta would receive additional equity capital that could support its AI infrastructure expansion, while investors in the chipmakers would gain exposure to Meta’s growth. The non‑binding nature of the commitment means the actual funding may not materialise, leaving both sides exposed to AI‑related demand risk.
