Elevra Lithium completes $71 million sale of Ghana Ewoyaa project interest

Elevra Lithium Limited sold its entire rights and interests in the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana to Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt for US$71 million. The transaction received the required Ghanaian government approvals and removes Elevra’s funding obligations for the project. Proceeds will be used to fund the company’s North American lithium expansion and other growth initiatives. CEO Lucas Dow said the deal improves financial flexibility and lets the firm focus on its core assets.

The cash inflow gives Elevra additional liquidity to advance its North American projects, potentially supporting future capital expenditures and reducing the need for external financing. The removal of the Ghana project from Elevra’s portfolio simplifies its asset base and may improve its valuation metrics.

  • 1Elevra received US$71 million in cash consideration, before fees and taxes.
  • 2The sale transferred all of Elevra’s rights and interests in the Ewoyaa Project, including spodumene concentrate offtake rights.
  • 3The transaction was completed after obtaining the required approvals from the Ghanaian government.
  • 4Elevra no longer has any funding commitment to develop the Ewoyaa Project.
  • 5Proceeds will be used to support the North American Lithium brownfield expansion, development at the Moblan project, and other growth projects.
