Naver secures $9 billion Brookfield financing to launch AI factory and meet Nvidia investment condition

Naver Corp. signed a contract with Brookfield Asset Management that provides up to $9 billion to fund AI‑computing infrastructure, allowing the company to satisfy the prerequisite for Nvidia’s planned $1 billion equity investment. Brookfield will create an SPV, called “Asset Co.”, which will supply GPUs and data‑center capacity to Naver Cloud, the operator of the AI factory. The factory will start with 55 MW of capacity in the first half of 2027 and scale to 200 MW in 2028, with a long‑term target of 1 GW. Naver will guarantee the usage‑fee payments of its subsidiary for a period of up to eight years.

The financing reduces Naver’s upfront capital outlay, enabling rapid expansion of its AI infrastructure business. Nvidia’s $1 billion equity stake, contingent on the Brookfield funding, will make it a 4.5 % shareholder and third‑largest owner, deepening technology collaboration.
