Netflix obtains exclusive live coverage rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup

On 13 October 2026 Netflix announced it will broadcast every match of the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, adding live soccer to its portfolio. The agreement also covers the 2027 and 2031 women’s tournaments. Analyst Justin Patterson at KeyBanc kept an Overweight stance but cut the price target to $85, down from $92, and noted that the stock was trading at $70.86, up 0.35% at the time of reporting.

KeyBanc’s reduced target signals that analysts see tighter margins and currency headwinds, which could temper expectations for earnings growth. The new sports rights may open a new subscriber acquisition channel in Europe, potentially offsetting the margin pressure.
