Universal Insurance posts 32% profit rise as Hurricane Isaias impact limited

Universal Insurance Holdings reported third‑quarter 2026 results. GAAP diluted EPS rose 30.4% year‑over‑year to $1.80 and adjusted EPS increased 41.9% to $1.93. Revenue grew 9.6% to $439.3 million and direct premiums written rose 2.7% to $608.9 million. The insurer said Hurricane Isaias caused less damage than expected and highlighted an 8% increase in policies in‑force.

The company expects the stronger earnings and underwriting performance to sustain its cash flow and support the quarterly dividend declared by the board. Higher profitability may also enable continued share repurchases.
