Meta Platforms begins its first euro‑bond issuance

Meta Platforms launched its inaugural euro‑bond sale on Wednesday, offering six tranches with maturities ranging from four to 38 years. The company previously announced a $15 billion U.S. dollar bond offering to fund AI‑infrastructure spending. In total, Meta plans to raise $95 billion of new debt across all markets. S&P Global Ratings simultaneously changed Meta’s credit outlook to negative.

The proceeds are intended to finance Meta’s expanding AI infrastructure, increasing the company’s leverage. S&P’s negative outlook may raise borrowing costs and affect investor sentiment.
