IMC Rare Earths (NYSE: IMC) reported a 73% recovery rate of rare earth elements, excluding cerium, from its Itarantim Project in Brazil using acidified magnesium sulphate. The company aims to evaluate in-situ recovery (ISR) for a more environmentally friendly extraction method. The Itarantim Project contains 1.1 billion tonnes of Inferred Mineral Resource. IMC plans further testing and studies to assess ISR's feasibility.

IMC tasked ANSTO Minerals for further metallurgical work. IMC highlights the project's high terbium grade and leachability, positioning Itarantim among top global projects. IMC Rare Earths’ ordinary shares began trading on NYSE American under ticker IMC after the company’s IPO priced at $5.00 per share, raising $20 million. The firm is developing the Itarantim ionic adsorption clay project in Brazil, which it says has an inferred 1.1 billion metric tons and is rich in dysprosium and terbium used in magnets for AI, robotics, electronics and defense.
