TV station sues data center firm over fears it could lose access to 70 years of archive footage
Nine PBS sued Iron Mountain Data Centers in Denver District Court, seeking access to about 50TB of cloud-stored archive footage it says covers 70 years. The broadcaster alleges its storage vendor, Open Source Storage (OSS), cut off access after going defunct. A temporary order bars Iron Mountain from altering data and directs assistance. Iron Mountain says it only provides physical infrastructure and never accessed the data.
