Bankers warn deliberate defaulters
The Thai Bankers' Association warned that borrowers who intentionally default could face legal action and be barred from future credit, after social media posts encouraged defaults on loans from Clicx Bank. TBA chairman Payong Srivanich, also president of Krungthai Bank, cited Thailand’s low tax participation and said virtual banks use alternative data to improve inclusion. He also said Thailand’s outlook is uncertain in 2H 2026.
