Loews Reports Higher Second-Quarter Profit as Revenue Continues to Grow
Loews Corp (NYSE:L) reported second-quarter net income of $444 million, or $2.16 per share, up from $391 million, or $1.87 per share, a year earlier. Revenue rose to $4.73 billion from $4.56 billion. CNA Financial and Boardwalk Pipelines and Loews Hotels contributed higher results. Loews said book value per share rose to $93.52 and it repurchased about 1.4 million shares for $146 million.
