TSX Loses by Monday’s End
Canada’s TSX fell 62.35 points to 36,667.92 on Monday, tracking weakness in U.S. markets amid consumer and health-care concerns. The Canadian dollar slipped to 72.08 U.S. cents. Abaxx Technologies reported a wider Q2 net loss; shares fell to $24.09. OceanaGold agreed to buy Ausgold for A$776 million; shares rose to $41.03. Shopify, Saputo, Loblaw, and Extendicare also declined.
