NZX Extends Recovery As Wall Street Posts Eighth Straight Weekly Gain
Wall Street’s Friday gains and easing inflation/oil concerns are expected to support a firmer start for New Zealand shares, with US markets closed for Memorial Day. The S&P/NZX 50 rose 0.9% to 12,991 and is up 0.2% for the week. Ryman (+6.3%), Summerset (+5.3%) and Mainfreight (+4.3%) led. US S&P 500 notched an eighth straight weekly gain. Focus this week: AI/software/consumer earnings and Core PCE.
