SK Telecom, KT, LG U+ subscribers to have access to basic data on phones after monthly limit expires
South Korea's three major mobile carriers (SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+) will provide basic data access at a reduced speed of 400 kilobits per second to subscribers after they exhaust their monthly high-speed data caps. This initiative, agreed upon with the Ministry of Science and ICT, aims to protect communication rights and is expected to benefit 7.17 million users, saving them 322.1 billion won annually. Additionally, the government will mandate expanded voice and text allowances for elderly users (65 and older) with limited service plans.
