Retailers are selling their tariff refunds on the cheap for a quick infusion of cash
According to the Wall Street Journal and Retail Dive, retailers awaiting Trump tariff refunds have sold rights to their claims to third parties for faster cash. American Eagle Outfitters sold $68.9M of claims for $18.6M, and The Children’s Place agreed to $38.2M for $25.7M. GoPro sold $19.4M of potential claims after paying $20.2M in tariffs.
