B&M shares slide but analysts say quarter changes little

B&M European Value Retail SA (BME) shares fell 5.8% to 192.1p after a trading update showed UK like-for-like sales down 2.3% in Q1, hurt by a weaker start to the garden season. Analysts at Jefferies and Peel Hunt said the quarter was largely in line with expectations, with improved sales in May and June. Jefferies kept a 180p target and hold rating.
