Ousted Irish BP chairman says claims about his conduct are a 'false narrative'
BP removed Albert Manifold as chair and director on Tuesday, citing “serious concerns” about governance standards, oversight and conduct. Senior independent director Amanda Blanc said BP was surprised and took “decisive action.” Manifold, in a Financial Times statement, denied the claims and said he was removed “without warning and without explanation.” Ian Tyler was named interim chair; BP will start a process for a permanent chair.
