ThredUp Navigates K-Shaped Economy as Revenues Climb 17%
ThredUp reported Aug. 5 quarterly earnings with revenue of $90.8 million, up 17% year over year. New buyers rose 13%, the strongest quarter on record. Management attributed demand differences to a K-shaped economy, citing June as “grindy.” ThredUp plans deeper discounts on aging inventory, shifts marketing from Google to Meta and Pinterest, and says AI tools increased profit per buyer by 7% in early tests. Full-year revenue guidance was lowered to $344.4 million to $348.4 million.
