The Metals Company submits decade’s worth of deep-sea exploration data to ISA
The Metals Company (TMC) has submitted a decade's worth of deep-sea exploration data from its subsidiaries, Nauru Ocean Resources Inc. (NORI) and Tonga Offshore Mining Ltd. (TOML), to the International Seabed Authority's (ISA) DeepData database. This extensive data, collected from the Clarion-Clipperton Zone (CCZ) between 2013-2022, includes biological, geochemical, and imaging data which now represents roughly one-third of all CCZ data in DeepData. TMC asserts that this comprehensive dataset, backed by significant investment, addresses environmental concerns and supports the feasibility of monitored commercial deep-sea mining.
