LPL Financial’s Private Advisor Group hired the Paxel Financial Consulting team from Cetera, with the practice reporting about $300M in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets. LPL said the move fits its recruiting push. Kestra added Kathryn McGough to expand in Chicago, and Oxford Financial named Jason Gust in Grand Rapids. Howard Bailey hired Jake Boyer in Fort Wayne.

Raymond James Financial Services added advisors John Chaulklin and Brian Clayton, plus office manager Faith Rodriguez and associate Johnny Campbell, from LPL Financial. They managed about $540 million in client assets. LPL also said Don A. Harrell’s WestKai Private Wealth joined LPL Strategic Wealth with about $400 million in assets, after coming from Morgan Stanley.

LPL Financial’s Q2 results beat estimates, with revenue of $5.19B vs $5.04B and adjusted EPS of $5.84 vs $5.38, as management cited organic growth, operating leverage, and progress integrating Commonwealth Financial Network. On the call, executives discussed adviser movement normalization, a pricing review, G&A efficiency, and the Latitude AI platform, including concerns about fee pressure.

LPL Financial’s LPL Research launched 17 new model portfolios within its Building Block Model Portfolios suite, expanding the platform to 70 variants and surpassing $100 billion in AUM. The models target single asset classes or outcomes and can be used alone or combined in a unified managed account, using SMAs, ETFs, and mutual funds. Broadridge projects model portfolio AUM could reach $18.6T by 2030.

LPL Financial CEO Rich Steinmeier said on an April earnings call that LPL is reviewing pricing options and may reduce reliance on cash-sweep economics amid AI-related concerns about brokerages earning net interest from uninvested client cash. LPL Financial Holdings reported Q2 2026 organic growth of 4% and $25 billion in recruiting assets, citing advisor movement normalization and technology/service value.
