According to an August filing with the European Commission, Porsche will leave Volkswagen Group’s EU CO2 emissions pooling arrangement and join a pool with Chinese EV maker XPeng starting next year. The EU requires fleet-average emissions targets or fines, with pooling allowing firms to meet averages. The change affects how emissions compliance costs are allocated.

According to Xpeng chairman He Xiaopeng, the company will release a distilled update of its second-generation VLA driving system for dual Orin X chips in Q4 2026. He also said a version for a single Turing chip is expected between late August and early September.

XPeng said it will officially enter the Philippines in September via a public launch event, with local operations handled by its direct subsidiary XPeng Philippines. Two EVs will debut, the X9 seven-seater flagship and the L03 SUV coupe. XPeng said Philippine specs, variants, pricing, and availability will be disclosed at the event.

Xpeng’s five-seat G9L flagship EV SUV opened for pre-orders in China, with full specs and pricing. It is offered in pure-electric and PowerX range-extender versions.
